How would your friends describe you?
My friends would say I'm an outgoing person. Very easy to talk to and to get on with. They would also say that I am very determined and once I put my mind on something, I make sure it happens.
How did you start cycling?
I started cycling due to an injury I picked up while running sprints as a child. After going through surgery on both my knees, the doctor suggested I take up cycling to help strengthen my legs and to take the pressure off my knees, that running used to do. From then the bug it and it became a lifelong passion.
Who is your favorite cyclist?
Laurent Jalabert. One of the best all rounders of all time. Was fortunate enough to meet him at the '92 Tour de France.
What was your first bike?
My first bike was an Alpina. A South African made bike.
Where would be your preferred place to ride?
I recently discovered Boulder, Colorado, right on the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. So unbelievably beautiful. Could spend all day riding around out there!
Why do you prefer cycling over other sports activities?
The total freedom it gives you. Even when you've suffered all day on the bike, you just want to go back out and ride some more.
What is your current occupation and why do you do it?
I'm a PR specialist working in the IT security market. It's a great job and I enjoy working with the media.
Wine or Beer?
Definitely a wine person, although beer will suffice if there is no wine around.
