The all-new BURA, stiff and lightweight road bikes. Re-engineered for 2017, the new BURA range redefines the high-performance road category with a new level of stiffness and increased compliance. And for the first time, the BURA range is available in two models using either the C6.7 or C6.9 grades of carbon fibre.
At its heart, the BURA is an all-round race bike for the rider who demands the highest stiffness: weight performance without sacrificing all-day long comfort.
The 2017 edition maintains its race pedigree while being completely re-engineered to incorporate a new asymmetric downtube, modified “exoskeleton” gussets behind the headtube, a press-fit 86 bottom bracket, full internal cable routing for both mechanical and Di2 compatibility, and a redesigned rear triangle to increase power transfer. While a new fork design and an integrated seatclamp increase the level of comfort for those long days in the saddle.
The BURA range is now available in either a high modulus, super-light BURAsl model, which utilises our highest grade C6.9 carbon fibre, or a standard modulus BURA model made from our C6.7 carbon fibre.
Both models have the same performance characteristics with identical geometry and responsive handling, similar lateral stiffness, and comparable compliance. The C6.9 BURAsl achieves this impressive performance with a mere 750g frame weight (size L), while the C6.7 BURA has increased durability at just 950g (size L) for an attainable price.

High stiffness to weight ratio
BURAsl is made from NEILPRYDE’s C6.9 uni-directional carbon fibre, the highest modulus suitable for bikes, while the BURA is made from NEILPRYDE’s C6.7 uni-directional carbon fibre, for improved durability and value.
One-piece Stays
1Redesigned deep section chain stays combined with our One-piece Stays construction and exoskeleton rib result in improved durability and power transfer without sacrificing weight.
PU MOLDING
2A high-tolerance control of wall thickness in bottom bracket and head tube is possible through use of PU mandrel and internal layer of 3k carbon fiber.
EXOSKELETON TECHNOLOGY
An evolution of the external carbon fibre ribs are integrated into the head tube and seat tube joints increasing lateral stiffness and torsional rigidity, while improving airflow around the frame.
