A lot has happened since we all came to down under. There has been laughter and tears, sweat and pain. Having done a big chunk out of the big ride that will lead us to Melbourne our feet hurt, our knees are in constant pain but the smiles get bigger and bigger.
Although the headwind we are getting could please sleep from tomorrow it would let some of us smile even brighter. Our N8 phones navigate us safely through the unreal landscape that is Australia’s West. It is not uncommon that for more than 60 miles (roughly 100 km) you won’t see anything but horizon and the street that in the end leads you direct into the sky.
More than often the chain is full to the left and the sweat is falling onto the frame, then when on top you can see for the next 3km and as you descent don’t forget to pedal or the headwind will blow you all the way back.
The wind here is somehow freezing so that we all will ride until midday with arm- and leg warmers most of the time, the best guess it that this will change throughout the next week as we go into the land.
It was not the smoothest ride until now and it does not look to smooth from here as well, but it is an adventure where all what counts is the pictures we take with us, the videos we do and foremost the new friendships we make on the way. After a while, not too long a while though, it will make you a very humble person when you ride your bike through this world because it will make you understand how beautiful and big it really is.
