NeilPryde presents high-performance bikes
This was a very special event. We couldn’t believe what the famous water sports brand NeilPryde revealed at today’s Test Day, something that has nothing to do with wind or water: Road bikes! NeilPryde developed the two models Alize and Diablo in collaboration with BMW Group DesignworksUSA.
From the overall design and quality it’s obvious that the leading manufacturer in water and adventure sports is not just licensing or branding open-mold frames from Asia. NeilPryde is well known and respected for its 40 years history in developing high-performance, aerodynamic and lightweight hardware and the new bikes certainly display these traits and will help cyclists to generate the maximum power on the road.
Those who wanted to use their own bike at the Test Day could also ride with the latest wheels from Lightweight.
Lightweight supplied the Special Edition prize-winning wheels. The revolutionary Duraflon coating is the most important visual and technical feature, which makes the wheels so very unique. Duraflon enables an extreme long-lasting, scratch resistant and smooth surface with a great appearance – with just 40g more weight. The current retail price is about 3.000 Euro.
After fine tuning our equipment we started our ride at 12:30 pm towards Duvenstedt and further into Hamburg’s surrounding countryside. The Lighweight racers were accompanied by the NeilPryde test riders. The difference between standard and these Special Edition wheels was more than clear. With 1 kg less weight and an uncompromising stiffness the riding behavior changed completely. Power was transferred from muscle to road with breath taking efficiency. It would be great to try these wheels together with the Pearl Dice Pro frame also on display.
The Pearl Dice Pro will be produced as Special Edition for the Tesla Cycle Team very soon, with the presentation being held in mid-October.
