Rides are subject to change.

How did you start cycling?
I started cycling, as an off-season training program for downhill ski racing. I rapidly became a better cyclist, than I was a skier.
Why are you an Epic Rider?
In addition to being a keen cyclist, I also love exploring new, and different areas. Whether it is going to places off the beaten track, meeting people and cyclists from different countries, or just seeing what the world has to offer.
What does the Epic Riders program mean to you?
I feel fortunate to be in a position to spend a considerable amount of time traveling the world, and by taking my bike, it gives me a special way of experiencing new places. I hope, that by being part of the 'Epic Rider' program, I am able to convey those experiences to other people, cyclists, and noncyclists alike.
Why are you interested in documenting rides?
I originally began documenting rides visually with pictures so that I could show my daughter where I ride when I travel. The concept took root from there.
Where would be your preferred place to ride?
Tuscany. The food, weather, scenery, history, and relaxed atmosphere. None of which are unique, but the combination is incomparable.
Why do you prefer cycling over other sports activities?
Both as a leisure pursuit, and in the competitive arena, cycling has no peer.
As a leisure activity, being out experiencing the outdoors with the wind in your face, chatting with friends is a wonderful social activity. The end of a ride, stopping in a village at the local café, bike leaning against the wall outside sipping a coffee…
Bike racing, is not only about challenging your own limits physically, and mentally, but also the environment, whether it be a hill climb in the mountains, or a fast criterium. Each presents its own set of unique challenges, and intermeshed with the tactics, makes cycling such a unique, and unpredictable sport.
How would you persuade someone to do cycling?
I think the Epic Rider program provides the perfect platform for promoting cycling, and the cycling life. The unique way one can travel, and experience places, hopefully in conveyed through the website.
