How would your friends describe you?
This is probably the most difficult question. So I'll come back it later (!).
Has there ever been a life-changing moment in your life?
There have been plenty of life-changing moments in my life, including those that nearly ended my life. They range from being abandoned at sea armed with nothing more than a mask and snorkel for company to thinking it wise to cycle across Europe at the age of nineteen with less money than there is currently hidden down the back of my sofa. This question could spawn some blog entries I think.
How did you start cycling?
I started at a friends BBQ. I was about three and there was a lovely blue bicycle, with white walled balloon tyres on it. It had beckoned to me in the language of a three year old. I climbed on board and that was that. I will try to find a photo of that.
What is your special talent?
Apart from playing blue grass cello, I have been known to produce some impressive meals often involving ingredients not commonly found together in the same dish, often not even on the same table.
Why are you an Epic Rider?
My enthusiasm for cycling is prodigious and its nice to spread some love.
What does the Epic Riders program mean to you?
It means I can explain why grilled sea-bass with coriander, garlic, fresh Spanish tomatoes and a nice crisp white wine make a lovely post ride meal.
Why are you interested in documenting rides?
Writing for me, is another passion, a means to let off steam, to be creative and to explore. It is often something I do, post ride, post meal.
Who is your favorite cyclist?
My two daughters. Watching them free-wheel along in the sunshine, laughing and joking is truly awesome.
